Strengths

Nearpod provides feedback between teachers and students embedded into lessons which can be created or found a database of lessons and assessments (including virtual reality field trips) from other educators or educational product companies.  In addition to embedded student response tools, Nearpod also offers data analysis tools.

Weaknesses

The free version is rather limited, therefore, to have all of the most useful features, most teachers will need to pay a monthly fee or request a district or school based quote.  Group licenses for Nearpod can be costly.

Role of Technology

Nearpod works on computers and mobile devices, and allows content to be imported from a variety of forms.  In addition to providing interactive formative feedback, teachers can create differentiated lessons on Nearpod, using the data that is generated. Teachers can use the assessments asynchronously or synchronously.
